Spring Parks and Recreation Board approves draft Comprehensive Plan, opens 30-day public comment

The Township of Spring Parks and Recreation Board voted 4-0 on Jan. 22 to accept the January 2025 draft of the Comprehensive Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan and to recommend that the Board of Supervisors adopt the draft and submit it to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for a 30-day public comment period.
The motion was made by board member William Herbine and seconded by board member Keith Stamm. Chairperson Richard Bashore recorded the vote as carried, with Herbine, Stamm, Bashore and board member Sarah Herchelroth voting in favor. Judy Houck, director of parks and recreation, attended the meeting by teleconference; Sharon Breneman, administrative assistant, submitted the minutes.
The board’s action instructs supervisors to consider adopting the January 2025 draft and to forward the plan to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the public for a 30-day review and comment period. The motion’s text, as recorded in the minutes, also asks that the plan be presented for public comment for thirty (30) days before any further action by the Board of Supervisors.
The meeting included routine procedural items: the board recorded no amendments to the agenda and no general comments. Members announced the next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. The special meeting was called to order at 7:19 p.m. and adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
