Community development director reports brisk building activity and housing plat approvals
Community Development Director Zach Rack High told council the department processed 27 new single‑family permits since January, collected $1.4 million in building fees and recorded roughly $143 million in valuation; staff also described plats adding dozens of home sites, housing capacity work, code updates and efforts to diversify industrial recruitment beyond data centers.

At the June 2 meeting Community Development Director Zach Rack High briefed council on department staffing, permitting volumes and land‑use activity. He introduced departmental staff and noted the office has relocated to the Umatilla Business Center.
