Commissioners confirm multiple advisory-board appointments by acclamation

The Craven County Board of Commissioners confirmed a slate of appointments to advisory boards and committees during its June 1 meeting. Commissioners nominated and, where no additional nominations were offered, appointed candidates by acclamation.
Appointments announced and confirmed included Kitty Hardison to the Craven Aging Planning Board; Carlos Kowalsski to the Recreation Advisory Council and Fire Tax Commissioners Board (reappointments); Commissioner Smith was nominated to serve on the Craven County Social Services Board to fill an expired term; Brenley Hart and Carlos Kowalsski were reappointed to township seats; Tiffany Powell was reappointed to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council; Cheryl Anne Murray, James Azerki and Mike Carroll were named to emergency-planning and planning seats; Taylor Wright and Christy Welkey were appointed to planning and advisory roles. The clerk recorded each appointment as approved by acclamation or unanimous roll call where required.
The board also previewed future appointments for the Coastal Regional Airport and Havelock Planning Board; those items will appear on a forthcoming agenda.
