Malden council adopts update to solid-waste collection code

The Malden City Council on Monday unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 3303, an amendment to Section 230.110 of the Malden City Code dealing with solid waste collection. The vote followed both a first and a second reading; each poll vote was recorded 8-0 in the meeting minutes.

Mayor Denton Kooyman said the ordinance is connected to a visit by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources that Public Safety Director Jeff Mitchell discussed at a prior meeting.

Council Member Jenkins moved the first reading and the measure moved forward on a poll vote. Jenkins again moved the second reading; Council Member Downs seconded and the ordinance was approved by the full council.
