County tests online community‑meeting feature during Gross rezone pre‑application

The county used the applicants’ pre‑application meeting as a test of a new online community‑meeting feature intended to let residents watch and comment remotely. Danny Klebanner said the county has expanded online access and now posts recordings to a YouTube page so people who cannot attend can review meetings later.
“At this first community meeting where we’ve allowed online input…we had the ability for some of our public hearings online,” Klebanner said, noting that in an earlier large solar project people could not comment online but that the county has improved the interface. He added that no one joined the online stream during this session but that the recording would be available for later review.
Klebanner also reminded applicants that they must supply meeting notes from community meetings as part of their formal application materials; staff said applicants could rely on the posted recording as a reference when preparing their notes.
Staff closed the session after roughly an hour and thanked the applicants for serving as a test case for the county’s online meeting tools.
