OCOEE, Fla. — The Ocoee City Commission filled two seats on the code enforcement board on June 2, appointing a regular member and an alternate from city applications.
Staff described two applications and advised the commission to assign one applicant to the vacant regular seat and one to an alternate seat. Commissioner Wilson moved to appoint Michael Montgomery to the regular seat; Commissioner Kennedy seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
For the alternate seat, Commissioner Kennedy moved to appoint Bradley Jackson; Commissioner Wilson seconded the motion. That appointment also carried unanimously. Staff noted one alternate position remains open and encouraged continued promotion to recruit an applicant.
Why it matters: Code enforcement-board members hear appeals and make quasi-judicial decisions on local code matters; filling vacancies restores the board's ability to function and hear matters in a timely way.
What happens next: Staff will update board rosters and process orientation for the newly appointed members; the remaining alternate vacancy will be advertised for future consideration.
