Brunswick accepts DNR coastal grant for initial Glen Middle School flood mitigation work; engineering proposal presented
City staff described a multi-year flood mitigation program for the Glen Meadows/Lanier Boulevard area and accepted a Coastal Incentive Grant of up to $80,000 (1:1 local match required); staff also presented a two-year engineering proposal totaling $280,000 that would cover the design tasks if year two proceeds.

City staff outlined a multi-part drainage and flood-mitigation program that focuses on the southeast neighborhoods, including Prince Street basin tasks, work around an old industrial property and measures around Glen Middle School. Staff said some tasks were started using National Fish and Wildlife Foundation funds but later phases required new funding.
