Hall County staff urge public input on Unified Development Code; only a dozen responses so far

Interim county administrator Mr. Gentry and planning staff urged public engagement on a county update to the Unified Development Code (UDC) and outlined multiple ways for residents to provide feedback.

Gentry said staff created an online feedback form and will host three open‑house style engagement sessions (June 2 at Mulberry Creek Community Center, June 4 at the Hall County Government Center, and June 9 at North Hall Community Center). He said staff will compile the feedback, revise draft ordinances as needed, and return with public hearings in August. Planning staff reported that 12 people had submitted online input so far and that staff will capture engagement from in‑person sessions using the same form so all comments can be rolled up.

Gentry encouraged citizens to use the form and attend sessions; commissioners emphasized the need for broader participation. Staff said they would provide commissioners with a roll‑up of recommendations received before the board votes on any ordinance changes.
