Lompoc council asks staff to return smoking ordinance that targets bus stops, senior center grounds and shared-air multiunit housing
After a staff report and public comment from health officials and residents, the council directed staff to return a draft ordinance that would add a municipal tobacco retail license and expand outdoor smoking bans to public transit areas, sidewalks near schools and certain multiunit housing with shared forced-air systems; council votes on direction passed 4–1.
