Board hears John Marshall modernization proposal to create a district 'swing' site
District staff introduced a plan to demolish an unreinforced masonry portion of John Marshall and add a three-story addition to create a 1,000-student interim site; the proposal was presented as necessary to qualify for state construction assistance and to provide long-term flexibility for rebuilding other schools.

District staff introduced Resolution 25-26-15 N seeking board direction to pursue an in-lieu-of-modernization for the John Marshall site as part of long-term facilities planning. Executive Director Richard Best explained that the plan calls for demolishing approximately 6,094 square feet of unreinforced masonry (URM) and building roughly 27,840 square feet of new three-story space to reach capacity for about 1,000 students.
