Wilson County resident urges transparency, opposes data centers and large energy projects

Pamela Shaw, a Wilson County resident, told the Commissioner’s Court during public comment that a significant number of residents oppose a proposed data center and other large energy projects and called for greater transparency on future projects.

Shaw said she was representing residents who want clearer notice and advance engagement from the county and its appointed entities. She told the court, in part, that the projects under discussion "have significant impact on our way of life, our health, our environment and ... our way of" living and asked the court to listen to community concerns.

The court’s agenda granted Shaw extra time because she was the only registered speaker; commissioners thanked her for speaking and moved on to the scheduled agenda item about the appraisal district building.
