Davie council approves site plan, plat, comprehensive-plan amendment, scooter code and variance; appoints Solid Waste Authority alternate

Comprehensive plan amendment (Item 16): On second reading the council approved an ordinance amending the town’s water‑supply facilities work plan and related infrastructure and capital‑improvement elements. Roll call recorded Vice Mayor Whitman, Mayor Paul, Council member Starky and Council member Alonso voting yes; the motion passed.
Motorized‑scooter code (Item 17): Council approved a second‑reading ordinance creating a new chapter that defines motorized scooters and sets requirements, restrictions, penalties and enforcement. Roll call votes were recorded in the affirmative and the ordinance passed.
Variance V26‑040 (Item 18): After a brief public‑hearing period with no speakers, the council approved the variance by roll call vote.
Appointment (Item 28): Because the town lacked an alternate to the Solid Waste Authority Board (primary representative: Council member Lewis), the council unanimously appointed Vice Mayor Michelle Whitman as the alternate representative.
