Rock County Board of Equalization approves Tangier Shriner exemption, corrects parcel split

Mona Davis, Rock County Treasurer, reported on a tax sale held in March and presented the county’s real property tax exemption notices published March 11, 2026. The board convened as the Board of Equalization at 3:15 p.m. and returned to the regular meeting at 3:24 p.m.
During the Board of Equalization the commissioners approved a tax‑exempt application for the Tangier Shriner. The board also approved removal of the Assembly of God Church and Rock County Growth from the published real property tax exemption list. Finally, the commissioners approved a tax correction to correct a parcel split on parcels 750003772 and 750001333. All actions were approved by motion and recorded as unanimous roll call votes.
Davis also noted receipt of a Homestead audit from the state; the transcript records the audit was presented but contains no further detail about its findings.
