Charter Review Committee adopts final draft, forwards recommendations to City Council
The Lago Vista Charter Review Committee voted to adopt a final third draft of the city charter and will transmit the package, with a cover letter, to City Council for its Feb. 19, 2026 meeting. The committee approved keeping a prohibition on dual quasi‑judicial appointments, kept comprehensive‑plan language in the charter and removed a specified $500 penalty.

The Lago Vista Charter Review Committee voted unanimously on Feb. 18 to adopt a final third draft of the city charter and will send the draft and a transmittal letter to City Council for consideration at its Feb. 19, 2026 meeting. Chair Linda Ayred opened and closed the meeting and led the committee through final edits and votes.
