Council adopted Ordinance No. 26-05-21-01 to update the city’s unified fee schedule with revised development services department fees.
City Manager Charles West and staff said Jordan prepared the new table of fees and benchmarked the proposed charges against similar cities. "Jordan did a good job of putting that together and tying it all back that their fee schedule they're proposing is all based off of the services they provide within that department," Charles said. Staff told council that the staffing plan mentioned in the packet would be considered separately through the regular budgeting process.
Councilors asked clarifying questions about whether the motion included immediate staffing changes; staff clarified that personnel items will come through the normal budget process and that some fee lines can be adjusted later if actual costs differ. After a motion to adopt the ordinance (with a friendly amendment to review bookings annually), the council voted unanimously to approve the new fee schedule.
