Planning Commission caps units, advances Starlite Ridge RV park amendment to council

The Planning Commission on May 7 approved staff-recommended unit caps for an amended Starlite Ridge planned development that would include an RV park and associated amenities, and granted preliminary approval to begin initial site work.

During review of the amendment, developers explained the plan was conceptual and subject to utility and site-survey updates. Commissioners and staff discussed density, open space and emergency access; concerns were raised about the development having only one entrance and exit. City staff recommended capping the development at 489 total units, with no more than 440 being RV spaces. The commission accepted the updated plan with those caps; the vote was unanimous. The item will proceed to final reading at the next City Council meeting.

Separately, the commission approved a preliminary plan to begin site work (clearing and grading) for Starlite Ridge; commissioners noted that preliminary approval does not authorize individual lot sales and that subsequent reviews will be required for lot plats, access improvements and final site plans.
