Isla Vista board approves amendment increasing general manager’s pay and adding severance protection

The Isla Vista Community Services District board voted unanimously to amend the general manager’s employment agreement to increase annual base compensation from $152,000 to $164,160, add a severance provision in the event of termination without cause, and raise the district’s retirement contribution to 11% of base salary.

District counsel presented the amendment and made the required oral disclosure of salary and fringe benefits. The presenter explained the change is the second amendment to the manager’s agreement and that the severance provision applies only if the manager is terminated without cause; resignation or termination for cause would not trigger severance. The board also asked staff to correct a typographic duplication in the compensation language prior to final document execution.
