Planners propose technical fixes to Kitsap County comprehensive plan after hearings-board remand
Kitsap County planners told the Planning Commission they adjusted capacity assumptions — notably cutting assumed future roads/rights-of-way on redevelopable parcels from 20% to 5% — and that those technical changes largely close shortfalls the Growth Management Hearings Board identified; staff said amendments will be posted for public review and go to a public hearing May 11.

Garrett Beaulieu, the county’s long-range planner, told the Kitsap County Planning Commission on April 21 that technical adjustments to land- and employment-capacity calculations should address the Growth Management Hearings Board’s remand of the 2024 comprehensive plan.
