Riverview staff gives updates on development, infrastructure and landfill projects

Public‑works and engineering staff reported that the street sectioning contractor began work in a staging area and will proceed to city streets after July 1; the lead‑service replacement program is ongoing, and sewer relief construction is due to begin after chambers finish shipping, with project work expected to intensify by mid to late June and run toward the end of the year.
Planning staff said the planning commission approved a Tactical Firearms business to open near El's Autoglass and that the applicant is completing licensing and business‑license steps. At the landfill, staff said the GCCS project contractor has finished its work and that the remaining gas‑well pump connections and new air‑compressor installation were nearly complete.
Council had no votes on these updates; items were presented for information and future agenda planning.
