Iron County broadens noise code to ban engine braking in posted municipal approaches

On May 26 the Iron County Commission adopted Ordinance 2026-12, amending Title 8, Chapter 8.20 of the county code to add a definition for "dynamic braking device" (commonly called a "jake brake" or engine brake) and to designate posted municipal approaches and corridors as restricted areas where use of such devices is prohibited except to avoid imminent danger.
