School committee approves multiple facilities submissions, RFPs and ceiling-replacement awards

Committee members moved to submit schematic and construction documents for Joseph Jenks Junior High School and Agnes e Little Elementary School parking-lot and restroom projects to RIDE for review and approval and authorized the district to issue RFPs for construction services. Those motions were seconded and carried by voice vote.
On award recommendations, the committee approved recommending that Joseph Jenks Junior High School's ceiling-replacement project be awarded to Nationwide Construction Corporation (amount as read in the materials) and that Agnes e Little's ceiling-replacement construction services be awarded to ADS Construction Incorporated for $708,500. Project leads discussed scheduling these summer projects to finish before the new school year and noted reimbursement expectations under the MOA (December 31 completion required for the MOA projects and July 15 deadline for reimbursement documentation).
Other items approved included the second passage of an updated attendance policy by roll call, adoption of the 2026-27 elementary school calendar, an end-of-year budget transfer and the Right to Read corrective action plan and associated AIM pathway funding drawn from existing curriculum funds (approximately $25,000). The committee also approved the appointment of Emily Lauder as school committee clerk.
Vote notes and deadlines: Patrick (project lead) and facilities staff said paving and partition projects could be completed in July or early August; MOA-related projects must be completed by Dec. 31 to meet grant/reimbursement timelines.
