County accepts DD19 completion report, approves pay application and schedules completion hearing

The Dickinson County Board approved payment on pay application No. 2 for drainage-district DD19 main open-ditch repairs and accepted the contractor’s completion report, scheduling a completion hearing for July 14 at 9:00 a.m.
Staff explained that most construction work was finished in late March and early April, with woody-vegetation spraying completed in late May; that spraying was included in the current pay application. The pay application amount was presented with a 10% retainage to be withheld until the completion hearing and final acceptance. A motion to approve payment passed by voice vote; the board also accepted the completion report and set the completion hearing for July 14 at 9:00 a.m.
Staff noted FEMA-related repairs are under separate contracts and that a change order earlier in the season resulted in little net change to contract price. After the scheduled completion hearing, the board can authorize release of retained amounts as appropriate.
Next steps: board will hold the completion hearing July 14; retainage will remain withheld until post-hearing acceptance.
