Selectboard names Experience Shelburne as town Downtown Organization, authorizes state application

The Selectboard voted unanimously on June 9 to designate Experience Shelburne as the Town of Shelburne’s Downtown Organization and to authorize submission of an application to Vermont’s state Downtown Program (now known as Center Step Three).
Aaron DeNamur, the town’s director of planning and zoning, said the state program provides access to significant transportation grants and tax credits for building renovation. DeNamur said staff were assembling required documents — including a Capital Improvements Plan and letters of support — and anticipated filing the application in August.
Andrew Everett moved to designate Experience Shelburne and to authorize the application; the motion passed 4-0. Staff will continue preparing the application packet and any supporting materials the state requires.
