At the March 26 meeting, Planning Coordinator Matthew LeConte led a zoning ordinance workshop explaining a drafted subdivision review flowchart and reference charts intended to help the Planning Board manage an influx of subdivision applications. LeConte walked board members through the sequence of reviews and decision points in the subdivision process.
Board members discussed specific procedural refinements they could request from applicants to streamline review. Suggestions included asking for concept drawings of proposed houses at the Sketch Plan stage, using the town’s comprehensive plan as a supporting justification for proposals, and adding concept photographs to the post–site-walk meeting record to aid visualization. Members also agreed to maintain a list of Zoning Ordinance areas to review during an annual fall review.
The workshop was framed as an administrative effort to standardize reviews and improve the board’s ability to evaluate multiple simultaneous applications; no ordinance changes were adopted at the session. Planning staff will continue to refine the flowchart and present any recommended ordinance amendments at a future meeting.
