Ridgeway sets summer office hours; departments report routine activity
Summary
On June 17 the Ridgeway Town Board set summer work hours for clerical, assessor and code-enforcement staff and heard routine departmental reports: the Ridgeway Fire Company welcomed three new members, the Code Enforcement Officer reported building permits and court activity, and the Assessor confirmed the final roll is set for July 1.
The Town of Ridgeway Board on June 17 adopted Resolution No. 47 to set summer work hours for several town offices and received routine reports from town departments and the Ridgeway Fire Company.
After the board reconvened from executive session, Councilman Jeffrey Toussaint moved and Councilman Duane Payne seconded Resolution No. 47, which established summer hours (effective June 1 until the day after Labor Day) for the Town Clerk, Town Clerk staff, Assessor and Assessor staff, and Code Enforcement staff. The hours are Monday–Thursday 9:00 AM–4:30 PM and Friday 9:00 AM–1:30 PM with a half-hour lunch (a 32.5-hour workweek). For the remainder of the year, those offices will observe Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–4:30 PM with a one-hour lunch. The board adopted the resolution 5 Ayes, 0 Nays.
In other business, Don Marchner of the Ridgeway Fire Company reported the department welcomed three new members in May. Code Enforcement Officer Jason Raduns said he issued three building permits in May, closed one, made three court appearances, and issued a violation letter for high grass; he also told the board he has completed his personal goals for the year except for advancing a local law concerning food vendors and that in-house forms have been updated for posting. Assessor Julie Cecchini said one resident used Grievance Day on May 28 and that she spoke with six residents in advance; she said the final roll is set for July 1. Town Attorney Kathy Bogan told the board a tax-foreclosure auction is set for the end of July and that one or two Ridgeway properties appear on that list. Town Clerk Hannah Hill reported the clerk’s office is quiet for summer but noted increased pavilion reservation requests at Glenwood Lake.
The board approved payment of the presented abstract totaling $164,107.24 across town funds earlier in the meeting. Public comment was solicited and none was heard.
The meeting adjourned at 9:10 PM.
