Willis ISD trustees heard a progress update on House Bill 3 (HB3) goals and measures and recognized students whose test scores and CTE results contributed to the district's reported gains.
District presenters said the percentage of graduating seniors earning a CCMR point and demonstrating college readiness has risen in recent reporting and that the district's goal is to reach higher benchmarks by 2030. During the presentation, Amy Rogers, the district's advanced academic coordinator, introduced the inaugural members of the Willis High School "1400‑plus" SAT club and named several students who have posted SAT scores of 1,400 or higher.
Rogers introduced multiple students by name, noting their planned college and extracurricular activities. Noah Hollander, executive director of secondary education, highlighted CTE and educator‑pipeline successes and said additional industry‑based certifications were still being processed into the system.
Following the presentation, a motion to approve the updated HB3 progress measures for the 2025–26 school year was moved by Miss Trailer, seconded by Miss Lagway and carried with six votes in favor.
Presenters framed the data as progress toward long‑term goals and said additional test administrations and certifications remain to be added to final counts. Trustees praised the students and CTE programs during board comments.
