Students push graffiti wall; Lyons candidates back exploring dedicated space for street art
A student-led proposal for a dedicated graffiti wall gained backing from several Lyons trustee candidates, who said a managed wall, mentorships, expanded creative-district programming and youth services could channel expression while other candidates stressed it would not eliminate unpermitted vandalism.

Students through the student advisory commission asked whether Lyons would support a dedicated area for artistic graffiti to reduce illegal tagging and otherwise support the creative arts. Tanya, the commission liaison, said the students were "surprised and a little disheartened" by recent graffiti concentrated under a local bridge and are seeking constructive options.
