Committee authorizes sheriff to seek multiple public-safety grants including $1.23 million interoperability request

The Ways and Means Committee authorized the sheriff to apply for several public-safety grants, including a New York State interoperability communications grant with an estimated county portion of $1,232,212 and Bureau of Justice Assistance applications for narcotics and traffic enforcement units; the committee also approved applying for an American Heart Association grant to buy AEDs and fund CPR/AED training.
