Planning board approves Verizon colocation at Rockside Road tower

The Village of Valley View Planning Board on April 15 approved a request to colocate new cellular equipment at an existing tower at 9889 Rockside Road (P.P.N. 571‑22‑011), a move that the applicant said will accommodate a first‑time Verizon installation.

Jennifer Baldwin, representing the tower owners, told the board the plan calls for Verizon to install two equipment cabinets and a diesel battery generator on the ground within the leased area, and that the perimeter fence would be moved back to make room for the new equipment: "Everything would remain within the leased land," Baldwin said.

Mayor Matthew March asked about the fence location and Building Commissioner Larry Ellis asked which carrier currently occupies the tower; Baldwin said she was unsure which carrier is presently on the tower. The board had no further comments and voted to approve the colocation (motion by Joseph White, seconded by Mike Bertovich; roll call: Bertovich, White, Johnston, Jakubczak, March — all aye).

The approval permits the equipment described by the applicant to be installed on the existing tower site within the leased area; no county or village statement about noise, emissions or other regulatory constraints was recorded during the meeting. The board did not attach additional conditions beyond confirming the equipment remains inside the leased footprint.
