Planning commission recommends limited special-use permit for 12-unit RV park in Saltville

At a joint March 22 public hearing the Smyth County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors recommended approval of a 12-unit recreational vehicle park on Buckeye Hollow Road with conditions limiting occupants to Appalachian Power employees and subcontractors and a six-year permit expiry, following resident concerns about traffic, security, noise and water pressure.

Chairmen Todd Dishner (Board of Supervisors) and Norman Sparks (Planning Commission) presided over a joint public hearing on March 22, 2018, where Debusk Farms LLC asked for a special-use permit to build and operate a 12-unit recreational vehicle park on Tax Map No. 41-A-109B between 1528 and 1366 Buckeye Hollow Road in Saltville.
