Enon Police prepare for April eclipse traffic surge and report staffing updates

Chief Mike Holler told council the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse is expected to draw a large influx of visitors and the department is coordinating with Clark County EMA; Hollor also reported a staffing applicant from a WHIO TV interview and said a planned March Clark State cadet class was postponed.

Enon Police Chief Mike Holler briefed the council on Jan. 4 about preparations for the April 8 total solar eclipse and ongoing staffing issues. "It is expected to bring a large influx of visitors to the area and there are no hotel rooms or campsites available in a 100 mile radius for that weekend," Holler said, and said he will attend coordination meetings with the Clark County Emergency Management Agency and other department heads to discuss traffic and public-safety response.
