CCRPC names Equity & Engagement Manager; equity advisory committee forms

The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission introduced Anne Nelson Stoner as its new Equity and Engagement Manager during the Dec. 7 Joint Executive & Finance Committee meeting.
Stoner told members the Equity Advisory Committee has 17 members and has begun work on a Mission Statement and a Code of Conduct. She said the group plans to update the CCRPC’s Public Participation Plan and revise the stipends policy to support broader engagement. Stoner also said the committee is involved with local planning projects, including the Winooski Walk‑Bike plan, and that she has been meeting with community members and partner organizations including the Vermont Racial Justice Alliance and Burlington’s Racial Equity, Inclusion & Belonging department.
Charlie Baker, executive director, said staff are consolidating feedback gathered over prior years into an equity action plan that will outline actions the commission can take to promote racial equity and inclusion going forward. The committee discussed focusing priority messaging on housing and equity in the next day’s legislative breakfast presentation.
