Cloud County reviews 2027 sanitarian budget as assessed values rise

County Sanitarian Marlene Stamm presented a 2027 budget request to the Cloud County Board of Commissioners on June 1, 2026, showing total expenses of $103,167.51 after fees and a Cloud County share estimated at $3,908.38.
County Clerk Shella Thoman told the board the County Appraiser had certified total assessed value (excluding state utilities) at $105,365,123, an increase of $1,291,175 from the prior certification; $1,120,804 of that increase participates in the Neighborhood Revitalization Plan. Thoman also reported a May 27, 2026 sales-tax remittance of $91,506.63, down from $93,587.93 the prior year.
The board received a budget request from the North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging, Inc. for $6,858 and acknowledged a thank-you letter from Concordia American Legion Post 76 for wind-farm grant dollars. The presentations and certified values will feed into the county’s ongoing 2027 budgeting and levy discussions ahead of statutory deadlines for budget adoption.
