Committee awards food-services contract to Chartwells after competitive RFP

As the sole vendor to reach the price stage, Chartwells' guaranteed financial return for fiscal year 2027 is $214,659.
Hatfield said the recommended contract is for one year with four one-year renewal options; the executed contract must be submitted to DESE for approval each spring. "This process was very cumbersome and required a lot of staff work," Hatfield said, thanking the evaluators and procurement team.
A motion to award the vendor selection was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The committee directed staff to finalize contract language and submit the agreement to DESE for review and approval before execution.
