The technology department asked the board to approve two sole-source procurements at the meeting. First, the department requested purchase of Learning.com as the K–8 digital literacy solution using PRC-078 state funds for $188,000; the presenter said Learning.com is North Carolina’s K–8 digital literacy initiative solution and the platform covers online safety, keyboarding, coding and business skills. The board moved, seconded and approved the sole-source purchase by voice vote.
