They emphasized that classroom instruction continues to follow the district curriculum while the adaptive platform IXL is used to provide individualized practice to bridge gaps in foundational skills.
"IXL allows students to work at their specific skill level to bridge individual learning gaps and strengthen foundational skills," the presenters said, noting the platform is intended to supplement, not replace, classroom teaching.
Board members did not take immediate action on the presentation. The item was presented for information and to show how district systems are being aligned to student achievement goals.
