The Warren Local Board of Education on Nov. 20 approved the date and location for Warren High School commencement and accepted a private donation to the high school's technology fund.
The board set graduation for May 23, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Warren High School football stadium, with the Warrior Coliseum gymnasium designated as the rain location. The administration reported a $50,000 donation from the Short Family Foundation to the Warren High School Technology Fund; the funds will be transferred through the Marietta Community Foundation and used for technology needs at the high school as needed.
Separately, the board published the public notice required by Ohio Revised Code section 3313.48(B) that a hearing on the 2025–2026 school calendar will be held at least 30 days prior to calendar adoption; the notice outlines topics the board will address, including total instructional hours and school year start and end dates. The motion to approve these items (Res. No. 83‑24) was made by Mr. Allen, seconded by Mrs. Greenup, and passed unanimously (Mr. Allen, yes; Mr. Crum, yes; Mrs. Greenup, yes; Mrs. Proctor, yes; Mr. Roush, yes).
