County cancels $735,665 security automation contract after Accurate Controls work

Delaware County commissioners voted June 15 to cancel a $735,665 security automation contract with Security Automation Systems after staff reported that Accurate Controls conducted corrective work and training at the justice center.
County staff said Accurate Controls spent multiple days installing and troubleshooting the access-control system, provided training to sheriff’s department and maintenance staff, and addressed a number of issues. The county still has outstanding low-voltage wiring that must be corrected; staff said they will coordinate with IT and facilities to finish that work.
"I talked to Captain Dye as recently as Saturday and he's happy with what's going on out there," a staff presenter said during the meeting. Commissioners then moved to cancel the previously approved contract and the roll call vote was unanimous.
The cancellation does not close out remaining maintenance and wiring tasks; staff committed to work with IT and the contracted vendor onsite to resolve wiring and finish installation details.
