Jeffrey Villar, Ph.D., superintendent of Regional School District No. 20, presented a draft request for proposals for a School Utilization & Renovation Study, commonly called a master plan. He outlined the purpose of the RFP and fielded questions about the types of firms that might bid and rough cost estimates.
Committee members asked about which consulting firms would have the necessary skills and experience, and probed “ballpark” costs for conducting a districtwide study. Villar said the draft RFP is intended to be broad enough to attract qualified teams and allow the district to compare approaches and budgets.
Members of both the Finance and Facilities committees reached consensus to move the RFP forward and to consider placing it on the agenda for the June Board of Education meeting for further action. No formal motion or vote was recorded at the committee meeting.
If the Board opts to authorize the study, district staff said they expect to return with a recommended procurement timeline, evaluation criteria and any proposed funding or budget implications for FY27.
