Library seeks window grant as village hears maintenance, planning updates

The Clarks Village library reported it has submitted a grant application to replace windows and said it will need a dumpster when the work begins. Library staff told the board that neighbor trees are growing into the library roof and asked whether village crews could assist with cutting and hauling; the library also reported a toilet needs replacement and listed upcoming events including a "Little Spooks" Halloween parade, an Iditarod speaker and planning for the 2026 summer reading program.

In maintenance updates, village staff said the water tower has been filled but water-quality tests must be completed before the tower can be placed back into service. Crews removed dead trees on Memorial Lane and repaired a shredder after it hit hidden metal near the railroad tracks. Trustees discussed other tree trimming needs on Beardsley and agreed to contact the county about assistance.

Planning & Zoning reported that a fence permit at 407 N Adams was approved, and that the Community Development Authority purchased two properties (306 W Barton and 408 N Iler) at sheriff's sale. The board reviewed the status of prior nuisance abatements and reported no new abatements.

Clerk/Treasurer Kari Podliska provided the Groundwater Survey report to trustees and noted auditors are scheduled for Oct. 16, 2025.
