The Apache Junction City Council on June 15 adopted Resolution 26-28, approving the citys final budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.
Staff said the final budget is unchanged from the tentative budget the council adopted on May 18 and recommended holding a public hearing before adoption. Mayor Wilson opened the hearing and, after no members of the public spoke, closed it and called for a motion. A motion to adopt Resolution 26-28 was moved and seconded, and a roll-call vote recorded "yes" from Council members Hec, Nesser, Cross, Johnson, Vice Mayor Schroeder, Council member Sarer, and Mayor Wilson. The motion passed unanimously.
Because no public speakers addressed the budget, council members proceeded to formal adoption without additional debate. The council adjourned the meeting following the vote.
The resolution formally establishes the citys expenditure estimates for FY 2026-27 and declares an emergency as written in Resolution 26-28.
