Arnold board accepts code recodification proposal from American Legal Publishing

The Village of Arnold Board of Trustees voted Sept. 8 to accept a recodification proposal from American Legal Publishing to compile permanent ordinances, create an index, reformat the codebook and provide a legal review.
Patricia Lamberty, Village Clerk, outlined the recodification scope and the base project cost of $7,720. On a motion by Glen Bowers, seconded by Jason Jenkins, the board authorized Chairman Zach Hagler to sign the Codification Agreement and authorized Clerk Lamberty to issue a 20% deposit payment of $1,544 to American Legal Publishing. The motion carried on roll-call vote with Bowers, DeLosh and Jenkins voting aye; Hagler and Austin Snyder were absent.
The recodification will incorporate permanent ordinances, produce an index and tables as needed, set a single-column typestyle and produce complete printed copies of the codebook. The proposal also includes a legal review. The board did not provide further schedule details during the meeting but authorized staff to proceed with the deposit and agreement execution.
The vote moves the village toward producing an updated, indexed municipal code book and starts the contractual process with the vendor.
