Wakefield HRC recaps large Pride turnout, readies Juneteenth program and welcomes new student appointees
The Wakefield Human Rights Commission recapped a well-attended Pride flag-raising, confirmed details for a June 10 Juneteenth program at the Americal Civic Center, and announced two student appointees (Gillian Arcari and Layla Atoui) who will start July 1 once sworn in.

Commissioners said the recent Pride & Progress flag-raising drew a large crowd and featured speeches and a performance by Voices of Steel. Secretary Kathy Kane said the sidewalk was “two or three people deep” and that volunteers staffed a WHRC table handing out bracelets and stickers.
