At its Oct. 17, 2024, meeting, the Arkansas Code Revision Commission completed several administrative items before taking up recodification and technical-corrections matters.
Commissioner Camille Bennett moved to approve the minutes of the Nov. 14, 2023 meeting; Representative Jimmy Gazaway seconded and the motion was adopted. Chair Matthew Shepherd introduced an annual authorization of expense reimbursement under § 25-16-902; Representative Jimmy Gazaway moved to approve the authorization and Senator Joshua Bryant seconded. The motion was adopted.
Earlier in the meeting Kevin Koon described a Bureau project to codify state agency rules and assign new numbering under a Code of Arkansas Rules project; he said staff would update manifest reference errors under § 1-2-303(d) unless staff were unsure and that staff would notify the commission by email as those changes are made. Mr. Koon also reviewed publication issues that could arise with the Title 19 recodification and recommended savings provisions in the draft bill to prevent conflicts with 2025 legislation.
With no further business, Chair Matthew Shepherd adjourned the meeting.
