Unity—s selectboard approved up to $400 to buy eight flower barrels, soil and plants for street "neckdowns" and backed a proposal to involve elementary and college students in limited roadside cleanup on Main, Depot, School and Canopoulos streets.

Alisia Benson, a newly introduced member of the town—s parks and recreation committee, proposed a student-led roadside cleanup targeting Canopoulos Road, Depot Street, Main Street and School Street. "We would like to try sort of a limited roadside cleanup… mainly Canopoulos Road, Depot Street, Main Street and School Street," Benson said, saying teachers would supervise students and the committee would supply garbage bags and litter grabbers.
