Malcolm trustees approve multiple contracts and a financing plan for ballfield renovation

Each motion carried on unanimous 5–0 roll-call votes recorded by the chair.
The board also voted to allow Cattle National Bank, with the Village’s approval, to reference the same deed of trust used for MYSA/Field of Dreams as collateral for a new line of credit intended to support MYSA/Legion parents’ fundraising and renovation efforts. Trustee Little made the motion; Trustee Faubion seconded and the motion passed 5–0.
Why it matters: the awards and the collateral arrangement together commit the village and local partners to a multi-stage renovation that will involve outside financing and advance the long-term usability of the youth ballfield.
The trustees directed the village attorney to deliver the revised draft of the MYSA/MPS/Village agreement to Malcolm Youth Sports Association and Malcolm Public Schools for review before the agreement is finalized. The minutes record several conversations with Legion parents and the bank during the discussion but show no separate formal amendment to any contract terms.
The board also approved relocating an existing storage shed from Malcolm Public Schools to the ballfield, contingent on the building inspector’s review of tie-downs.
Next steps: the village clerk was directed to proceed with steps required by the contracts and grant applications tied to related infrastructure work; additional administrative approvals and contractor coordination will follow as the parties finalize funding and permits.
