Enumclaw board approves waivers, construction authorizations and names new school

Contracts and capital work: The board approved a special inspections and testing contract for a district construction project. The agenda included a guaranteed maximum price authorization tied to construction work; board members thanked staff for clarifications provided before the vote.
School naming and policies: The board voted to name Elementary School 6 the "Evergreen Trail Blazers" after a community nomination and committee process. Several policies were presented for a first reading and multiple policies were approved on second reading, including updates on ethical conduct for directors, student harassment prohibitions, property and data management, and facility records maintenance.
Finance and consent: The board approved the internal financial report items, payroll and vouchers, and a consent agenda covering personnel changes (including the announced departure of a Black Diamond Elementary principal), a proposed middle‑school ELA curriculum adoption proposal (presented previously), district surplus items and the proposed fee schedule for 2026–27.
Each motion was called, seconded and approved during the meeting; the record shows "All those in favor? Aye. Any opposed?" followed by the chair noting the motion passed.
