Avoca council approves Laserfiche document-management purchase

Harry Simons moved to purchase the Laserfiche Document Center at the quoted price of $5,322.00; Ald. Dennis Pinkley seconded the motion and it was approved by acclimation. Recorder/Treasurer Nanette Barnes will contact Jon Strickland to schedule program setup and begin training.
Recorder/Treasurer Barnes told the council that audits for 2016 and 2017 were underway; council members discussed records and financial documentation as part of regular administrative oversight. The Laserfiche purchase was recorded in the minutes as an approved procurement intended to modernize the town’s document management.
Next steps: schedule installation and staff training with the Laserfiche representative and integrate the system into the town’s records workflow.
