Modoc County approves letter supporting Arts Council grant application

Chambers described partnerships with local health clinics to pay tribal artists for culturally themed murals, efforts to revive traditional cultural arts, and plans for youth performing‑arts and concert programming.
The board moved and unanimously approved a letter for the Arts Council’s grant application. Chambers said the council has seen enrollment rebound in youth programs and cited recent community engagement successes that she said would strengthen arts‑based outreach and local creative economy development.
Supervisors thanked Chambers and asked staff to provide the requested letter of support. No additional county funding was committed at the meeting.
