Modoc County approves letter supporting Arts Council grant application

Kristen Chambers, executive director of the Modoc County Arts Council, told the board the council is applying for a California Arts Council State Local Partner grant and highlighted longstanding county programs — including the Missoula Children’s Theatre, Poetry Out Loud county competitions and community murals — that the funding would help sustain. Chambers described partnerships with local health clinics to pay tribal artists for culturally themed murals, efforts to revive traditional cultural arts, and plans for youth performing‑arts and concert programming.
