The Audubon County Board of Supervisors met in an emergency session on July 18, 2024, and approved a late-filed permit for fireworks at the Audubon County Fair scheduled that evening. Chairman Heath Hansen moved to approve the agenda and later moved to approve the permit; Doug Sorensen seconded both motions. The minutes record the votes as "all in favor," and note Rick Thompson participated by telephone.
